math bowl

Wednesday, March 26 nearly 40 Wesmere Wolves made history as our school’s very first Math Team, competing in District 202’s Inaugural Blue House Math Bowl—and we couldn’t be prouder!

Our 4th and 5th grade Mathletes demonstrated incredible courage, dedication, perseverance, and teamwork, along with some truly impressive math skills. Over the past couple of months, they’ve put in countless hours preparing for both individual and team events, and their hard work truly paid off.

The growth, spirit, camaraderie, and courage they displayed were remarkable. Families and staff cheered our students on for three long, hot hours, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of support and excitement. If you see any Mathletes in the halls or classrooms today, be sure to tell them how proud we are of their achievements!

Special congratulations to Everett (1st), Jacob (2nd), and Gage (3rd) for being Wesmere’s top individual competitors. The top 10 finishers were all incredibly close, making it a thrilling competition for everyone.

A huge thank you to Lauren Turvey, our learning specialist and coach, and to all families and staff who offered support and encouragement. We are already looking forward to next year and can’t wait to see what our Mathletes accomplish next!
